On Thursday, a major whistleblower at the FBI announced his resignation from the bureau, with a final warning to Congress that the FBI has created a dangerous “quota” system for cases that incentivizes agents to artificially boost or decrease the number of cases they take on, purely for statistical purposes.
As reported by Just The News, special agent and former SWAT team member Steve Friend resigned from the FBI after giving an extensive interview before the House Judiciary Committee earlier this week. Friend had previously been a key whistleblower on the civil rights abuses that many of the peaceful protesters from the January 6th U.S. Capitol protest have faced at the hands of the FBI. Friend also provided details on the bureau’s overt politicizing of certain cases, as well as efforts to artificially increase the number of overall investigations in order to meet arbitrary quotas.
In retaliation for Friend’s disclosures, which were made under the official guidelines for the whistleblowing process, FBI leadership placed his security clearance under review, thus indefinitely withholding his pay. Despite never being formally accused of any wrongdoing or being officially disciplined, Friend was denied his paycheck for 150 consecutive days.
“The FBI had weaponized the security clearance revocation process in order to essentially try to wait me out financially,” said Friend in an interview. “You know, I was in a position where I had some personal savings and was able to survive. But at the end of the day, you know, I’m a married father of two small children. I have to support my family.”
Instead, Friend said he has taken up a job at a nonprofit that will continue investigating the FBI for misconduct. “I just had to take that opportunity and, you know, continue my efforts to reform the FBI from the outside,” he added.
On the controversial quota system, Friend said that the FBI’s case management system has been deliberately altered to not only demand an arbitrary number of cases from agents, but also to allow the bureau to focus on politically-charged cases that the leadership prefers to be investigated over actual, more serious crimes. The new system “essentially involves the FBI setting metrics for itself, setting a quota and pressuring its workforce to meet that quota,” Friend explained.
“Another aspect of this that I think is worth noting is even if crimes are righteous and worthy of being investigated, the quota system incentivizes you to change your tempo of your investigation,” he continued. “I had a personal experience where I was told to delay indictments of subjects, because we’d already met our quota for the year, we wanted those numbers to count to the next fiscal year.”
Under the Biden Administration, the FBI and other federal law enforcement agencies have openly targeted political opponents with excessive uses of force and fabricated charges on debunked or non-existent “crimes.” In addition to the hundreds of January 6th protesters, the Department of Justice (DOJ) has targeted a number of former senior advisers in the Trump Administration, including Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro, and has also targeted pro-life activists in the aftermath of the overturning of Roe v. Wade.
Tell Sean Hannity that the good ones are almost gone.
Remember when the phoney “whistleblower” popped up in the Trump case he was promised protection up and down?
I have no doubt that all the noise about “White supremacy being the most serious threat the US faces” is very much a part of this manipulation of quotas to create a completely fictitious narrative.
At the Hoover building it’s obvious that the lady holding the scales of justice is regularly getting buggered up the *** these days.
They are looking for white supremacist extremists under every bed...and if they can’t find some they will create them.
You remember the series Band of Brothers? “But Captain Sobel, there are no violations.”
Captain Sobel responds, “FIND SOME!!”
There are no “quotas”
There are only “production goals”
When those “production goals” are met, budget increases and “bonuses” for higher-ups follow like night follows day.
The stench of MBAs in leadership positions is all permeating.
Why would any decent person be associated with employment at the FBI? Peter Strzk and his slut come to mind. His presentation in hearings was clearly that of one headed for the top.
My company 15 years ago implemented some sixth sigma practices that created all these standards and created incentives to achieve that in many cases were unreachable without “massaging and fudging” numbers. Sounds like the FBI did the same thing.
Completely corrupt, like the rest of the govt. All Swamp all the time.
Hannity is a bigger fraud than the FBI.
Fire all of them and put Robert Hannsen back in charge.
“sixth sigma practices that created all these standards and created incentives to achieve that in many cases were unreachable without “massaging and fudging” numbers.”
That happens in many organizations—a red flag that all senior managers need to be fired because they do not understand their own business.
One example from a previous career many decades ago (but who know, they may still be doing it....):
I was a regional manager for a cable television company. We were given bonuses based on the increase in the number of subscribers in our region, and the local managers were on the same incentive system.
The managers quickly “trained” me on how to beat the system and get the bonus every year.
We had beach areas in our territory in the Northeast—the population doubled or tripled in those areas during the summer.
The seasonal people traditionally stole service by hooking up all the units inside the apartment building “box”—so that was the default if we did nothing—so it would show zero subscribers for that building.
We could “increase the subscriber numbers” any amount we wished by shutting off an entire building at the pole and forcing anyone who wanted cable tv to call the office. We would then connect them one at a time and monitor the apartment box weekly.
If senior management understood their business they would have scrapped the incentive plan and shut off all the apartment buildings before the season started and forced everyone to call in—and also monitored the buildings weekly.
That would have required them to hire more installers but it would have paid off big time.
We (first line and middle managers) kept our mouths shut—and collected our bonuses every year.
Prezactly.
“Hannity is a bigger fraud than the FBI.”
Isn’t that the truth? He’s more annoying than anything else.
FBI has created a dangerous “quota” system.
They work from home now?.
I don’t trust a single one of those gestapo “rank and file good guy” whistle blowers. Their number one duty now is to protect the democrat party and eliminate their political enemies. They have lied about everything for decades and now why should anyone believe a single thing any of those punks says about anything.
