Quarter the pomegranate and shuck out the seeds in a bowl of water. Seeds sink, pith floats. Skim off the pith and pour the seeds into a sieve. Fringe benefit the water keeps your fingers from getting stained purple.
By “shuck out the seeds” you mean use your fingers as you normally, except you do it in water?
I have a technique that works pretty well. Cut the fruit in half crosswise, then look for boundaries of the thin membrane that separates the seeds. Then cut the fruit along each of those boundaries and split it open.
You end up with chunks that are very easy to de-seed.
