That is true, but Darwin would have honorable mentions. Those that lived through their adventure.
Here is a true Florida Man story that ought to qualify for Honorable Mention. An ex-husband was ordered by the court to turn over the marital residence, a mobile home, to his ex-wife. Florida Man removed his possessions and packed them into his truck, then went back in, angry and drunk, and doused the interior with a can of gas.
Then, still inside, he lit a match -- which immediately caused a fiery explosion that blew a then flaming Florida Man through the wall of the mobile home. Neighbors watered him down to put out the flames and called 911. Florida Man survived burns, a broken arm, and a concussion, eventually doing a few months in the county jail for arson.
No Darwin Award, but surely deserving of Honorable Mention.
