In the last 24 hours I’ve had 2 comments removed and warned once by Facebook and the other Quora. One for posting a photo/meme of Goebbels and the other for answering a Quora question about specific examples of communist atrocities by the USSR in ww2 (I gave a reference to the Smithsonian magazine).

Unlike previous times I’ve been flagged or booted I was not involved in arguments or acrimonious language. This is highly unlikely it’s a random coincidence but possible. My guess is they have met or have been given directives to increase censorship.

Yes, I think you’re right re: favoring certain sellers. I’ve long wondered if the “Amazon’s Choice” designations are paid for. Amazon’s ratings system has become as crooked and unreliable as Yelp’s. And of course there are teams of special interest groups (including our own government) monitoring all social media posts and comments to ensure that nothing they dislike appears and, if it does, it’s removed immediately. No explanation is given.

If you create a new meme with the same quote it won’t even be noticed.

Yahoo comments are blocked all the time. They have people or more likely bots to respond if you get past the censor to make personal attacks. If you get a response it is hard to see now as they changed where your post briefly appears then disappears in all the other posts.

Facebook and the Quora is far more mature than FB, though Quora favors atheists (which abound), yet it has many conservative and interesting answers, and deletes posts so via a bot, and if you have been flagged before for violations of its Acceptable Use Policy (which it actually improved and seems more tolerant) usually, then you can usually appeal it, and I have won most, thank God.

I just saw this. They have reviews]ed my appeal and maintain their original decision. That making a reference to The Smithsonian is considered spam. I have no words.

I think Amazon manipulates reviews to keep certain suppliers ratings higher than what they maybe should be.

Actually Amazon (which has provided exceptional customer service in my opinion,thank God) reviews can be quite helpful, but the star number is for "ratings" which means no actual review is needed. Thus it is ratings which can be misleading, as I have found. Often there are very few actual reviews, including ones that match the rating number.

I’ve also received a few emails from the product sellers asking me to take down some reviews that were 3 star in my view- very unethical for them to do so.

I received few emails from the product sellers offering up to $40 (which I refused to do) if I would change my review for products that do not even cost that much. Yet that was before reviews much replaced by ratings in 2019.

Got that many times, since, as I explained in my last appeal, since Quora allows redundant questions (spam) then reusing some material from a previous answer to the like questions should not be considered spam. Nor using the same links. They usually restored it, and last time said it was a mistake.

That’s surprising at Quora...I’ve been pretty aggressive in my answer politically on there. Get a lot of guff from users but no admin problems unless they’re practicing some sort of shadow banning.

Been there for years myself, by the grace of God, and have has many deletions, though not as many recently, and most were appealed and restored. Sometimes though they were banned again, likely due to a user citing it, versus The Bot. So resistance is not futile.

This actually makes me hate them more. Why? because I had to appeal to higher management in customer service, I hate them because they willingly and surely knowingly hire leftist, woke, low information, biased morons as moderators.

Thank you all Freepers for the interest and support. I think this is one of the greatest obstacles we face.
