One of my hobbies is checking the Billboard charts from 50 years ago today and seeing what was popular then. There are many songs from the 1973 era that still get widely played today, such as "Killing Him Softly", "Crocodile Rock" and "Night the Lights Went Out In Georgia", but I like to dig up the nuggets that might only have gotten scant airplay back then but does bring back memories for some.

One of my favorite buried treasures is "Echo Park" by Keith Barbour. It's about a man who lost his son in the Vietnam War. I was only a small boy when it came on the radio a few times but I have very vivid memories of listening to it.
