Kingludd has killed and eaten more than 400 squirrels. I can kill one, skin it, gut it, cut out the armpit fat, wash it, dry it, wrap it and put it in the freezer in about 13 minutes. I cook 5 at a time in my pressure cooker. Pick off the meat, mix in some bbq sauce and eat it on a hamburger bun. Excellent fare. They are fastidiously clean, inside and out. You won’t see a dirty squirrel.

We ate squirrel often when I was growing up. Country preachers didn’t eat high off the hog.

Campbell’s Cream of Mushroom Soup. The biggest enemy of squirrels.

I used to have a coworker that brought in barbecue for every pot luck. I knew it was squirrel, but nobody else did. He shot hundreds every year. His freezer was full of squirrels, rabbits, and lord knows what else.

Minnesota. That science teacher was a great guy and a great teacher. On Fridays at the end of class he gave us the opportunity to try to stump him on where small towns were in the state. Several of us would look at maps and find the smallest and out-of-the way towns. We never did stump him.

Before teaching he had been a game warden and he hunted and fished all over the state.

He pointed me in the direction of my career!

Squirrel is delicious. Kind of like dark chicken meat. Yummy with noodles and a stroganoff gravy.

I think jackalopes have more meat on them, but I don’t think their range extends into Arkansas.

I love fried squirrel. My husband will not kill any for me. He says thdy are rats. One of mt students brought me several squirrels ready to cook once. He felt sorry for me. Loved that kid.

My daughter thinks I have lost my mind!
Just quietly reading on the couch, at first I snickered, then busted out laughing. She kept asking if I was okay but I could not answer.
Thank you for that hilarious story. I needed that
