sleep is more difficult for people who face systematic racism. The oppression. It's bothered me all of my life:

Lots of great suggestions. I have to deal with 7 dogs that are sometimes restless. My wife is a type 1 diabetic. Even with a continuous glucose monitor and insulin, she has problems with her glucose levels dropping to seriously low levels that set off a noisy alarm. She wakes up. I wake up. The dogs wake up. After acquiring some glucose, we try to settle down again. Recently, her doctor added "ozempic" to her routine. It has the effect of delaying digestion and dumping of the stomach contents. Last night as her glucose hit a low alarm, she ate a couple cookies. It didn't help. The ozempic is keeping that rescue dose of glucose from dumping to fix the problem. The net effect was extremely poor sleep for both of us. Tonight it is "early to bed" so her 5:45 AM alarm on a Sunday morning gets her up for a 7 AM 12 hour shift. Will it be a good night of sleep? It's a crap shoot every night of late.

What a triumph of banality and woke stupidity.

I only sleep about 3 hours at a time. If I go to sleep at 10:00, I’m going to wake up around 1:00 a.m. I then go back to sleep around 5:00 and sleep until about 8:00 a.m. It’s exhausting and the results are that I have no energy during the day. I would love to get 6 or 7 hours of sleep at one time.
I don’t think systemic racism has anything to do with it.

I wake up early and spend 30 minutes to an 1 or more usually reading then I go back to sleep. If I do not get my 8 hours I will make up for it later that day or some other day by sleeping late.
