Casey Kasem said that when he was recording this song he was recording it in the studio in Africa and the notebook with the song written in it was taken by some African gang. He never got the notebook back but I guess he recreated the song and the other songs.
Give me some Ray Wylie Hubbard and I won’t have to gag on beatles
Well did Casey say we are going to number 1, yet.
god...how i detested this album...him...and his band...not sure why, but i did and still do.
Biff has a raging hard on for boy bands
You can enjoy both
I do
Hubbard is a major lefty for the record
Well I guess, Linda McCaetnry, would disagree, she was a militant vegetarian, bur she was a woman.
Most musicians are. Except me;^)
Wings is living proof that Paul is dead.
Creative people have a lot of quirks the normal people do not have
Your post X 1 Trillion. I’ve always wished that assassin had developed an obsession with McCartney and not Lennon.
I will confess I bought that album on 8 track (the spring of 74 I think). It was to please the local girls in the small town I lived near, who liked to ride in my 71 Mach 1 Mustang (a nice looking car in dark blue metalic w/silver trim, but a DOG with the 351 2v Windsor v8).
My buddies made fun of me for having that album in my car, threatened to toss it out the window. But they tried to wear out GFR American Band (might have been a greatest hits, not sure). I got a Sly and Family Stone greatest hits to replace the Wings tape, (which I threw in the trunk), which the girls, including my sister, liked.
Traded for a 74 vette in the fall of 76, which had am/fm. Never bought another tape player from that point on.
Paul definitely had some great tunes with Wings in the 70s. All you Beatles’ haters...pfft to you.
I liked the Ram album but that was pre-Wings.
I was about 12 when "Band On The Run" came out. I remember driving with my parents to Alabama when this came on the radio just about every hour. At the time, I was big into word puzzles like word search, anagrams, and cryptograms. They use to come in these slick magazines back in the day. I would kill the time riding in the car by working out these puzzles.
As for Wings, I always felt their best song was "Listen To What The Man Said" which would dominate airwaves in the summer of 1975.
sure, back then, there were groups i liked and some i didnt like...that was it. This a-hole took my hatred of a band to a different level. From his stupid hair cut, to his arrogance...and most of all, the insipid, poppy, weasely songs. Of the 4 lads from Liverpool, i always thought Ringo’s couple of songs were the best of that bunch. Lennon was ok, though he didn’t do much, plus his girlfriend really irked me. Harrison was ok also, but later with the Traveling Wilbury’s, wasn’t bad at all. But “ebony& ivory”...”silly love songs”...good gawd, just shoot me...
