I just watched a youtube that said that Tesla was moving to a nickel based battery with a higher density and longer range than lithium. And at half the price. The nickel battery also is cobalt free.

Don't know if real. But video seemed professionally done. It was posted by Tesla Car World. But there are so many people sticking Elon or Tesla in their titles to draw in viewers, it's hard to know what's real and what's fake.

Elon Musk Reveals New Tesla Battery Design that Could Last 100 Years, Change the Entire Industry!"

I'm also seeing some interesting headlines about sodium or sea salt based batteries.

Such fabrications come from Elon himself, who has repeatedly promised such batteries in the past, only to unveil substandard batteries using cheap materials.

Last I heard, Tesla is only rebranding batteries made by other companies now, and at that, in extremely defective ways, such as placing the battery in a location where water directly expels onto them, rusting the battery and causing fires.

This has been reported to the relevant government bodies, who don’t appear to do anything about it.

We’ll see a return of Edisons nickel-iron chemistry, just wait and see.

“... Tesla was moving to a nickel based battery with a higher density ...”

Higher density means more powerful combustion per cubic inch or pound of battery.

Electric propulsion is great but the required batteries are a tough problem.

Watched a video of a train ride through the alps. It was electricly powered using overhead lines for power. That’s a great, as well as old, idea.
