Kids do stupid things just for the adventure of it. At age 14-15, I used to leave the house after 1130PM and get back after midnight. I lived in the country and never saw anyone. I just wanted to walk around. I lived in the country so I carried a bowie knife (most kids used to have a plethora of knives and guns by that age.)

My parents lived in another part of the house and they never found out.

While it was stupid, it did help when I joined the Marine Corps later. I did not realize how many people were sacred of walking through the woods at night, while by that time it was second nature to me.
