That’s assuming a very human perspective. I doubt the world we know so little about operates like we think it does. Otherwise we’d have figured it out already.

My science fictional mind tells me that...

these aliens slip in and out of the fourth dimension which is... time.

They’re either coming from some ancient pastvcivilization or they’re coming from the future and they’re slipping out of their fourth dimensional time.

Why? The fall and decline of society perhaps played a role in a future calamity.

Or if from the past perhaps they escaped devestation and are wandering in search of the tail end of the next extinction event to occupy.

My science fictional mind at work... tells me I need to reorganize the garage now.
