“Florida”

It’s not cheap anymore and the traffic is now very heavy.

It’s great for lawyers and tradesmen economically.

DeSantis’ “Freedom State” is far more regulated than the New York State I grew up in.

Homeowners insurance is expensive. And beware of the community improvement taxes that developers use to fund subdivision construction. And we have impact fees. “Oh, you can get stucco.”

You make some good points. Florida is still nice, but its not a free lunch.

Was in Florida last year, went to school there in my early 20s--never a fan but it's one redeeming quality (other than some beautiful beaches) was that it was largely empty.

Holy crap-has that changed! It was insanely crowded and without the infrastructure to accommodate.
