That said, we just had a vote to disaffiliate with its governing body (the UMC) and 1/3rd voted to stay with the gay-affirming UMC and redefine evil.
Frankly, I am still reeling from that experience.
The problem is that I really love the people in my church. I grew up with many of them.
Yes we get put into tough positions.
If your church voted 2/3’to reject sexual sin then I might be tempted to stay and help heal things up but I am sure there are many factors
A couple Sundays ago our pastor strongly hinted that he’s considering getting our church out of the SBC because of the new woke-ness and other organizational issues. (We’re not members; we just attend for now.)
