Nope.. like I’ve been saying, air travelers now are Greyhound passengers of 30 years ago.
So are a fair number of Amtrak travelers (NE corridor commuter trains excepted).
Being the handy "train guy," I advised someone I interact with that the reality of the train trip they were considering was not going to match up with their expectations. They came back wiser, with a new fund of "human interest" stories and some rather pungent sociological observations.
Bonus points: in the process, they got to see their first bearded bio-male wearing a dress.
Anyhow, they no longer like the idea of Amtrak starting a route to their community. Sadly, their local (D) politicians are going to ram it down - or possibly up - their constituents' GI tracts whether they like it or not.
