Dang! I did the same thing. My wife keeps cutting her hair shorter and shorter. Told her I was going to let my beard and hair grow out and look like a hippy! lol Did it for about 4 months and then went and had it chopped off. Oh well.
When my wife was young she had short hair like Pat Benatar. She could rock that look like no other.

I started about four months ago (both beard and hair) and plan to keep going for a while. I'm 60 as well so don't really care what others think. I have had mostly buzz cuts since my Marine Corps days in the early 1980s.

In the 1970s when I was in high school, I had hair like Shaun Cassidy (this was similar to photo I handed to my stylist back around 1977). Best I can hope for today is a Brad Pitt look. We'll see where it goes.
