I saw Titanic during its opening weekend. Will never forget the sight of the teenage girls departing the theater all in tears.
Me? I shed a tear also. During the scene where the ship is underway full steam ahead. I'm a history buff and the sight of those magnificent coal fueled boilers was a thing of beauty.

Look, I will make compromises about seeing movies, but not to Sex and the City or Mama Mia. I might have gone to Titanic, but I didn't.

I got dragged to it also. The total SCREEN TIME of that interminable scene, which included about four or five time lapses, was longer than he could have survived.

I saw it and the mostly forgotten Raise The Titanic in theater.
The scene with the submersible imploding is still memorable.
Loved the book as a teenager.
