That turned out nice. I need to make a pioneer type dress for a historical society event this July. Given my tight budget I went to the thrift store and found a cotton dress top for 2.50 and a queen size nice print bedsheet 4.00 and some scalloped white trim .50. That will be a fun project. Also found some nice lighter blue lightweight denim yardage for 5.00 enough to sew a jumper, I’ve been wanting one.

I love sewing on the cheap! I mean utilizing donated or thrift shop or clearance fabric to make something truly valuable! Same with knitting, I particularly like to make baby things because I can use a small amount of yarn that can’t be much used for something else and make it useful.

I love repurposing fabrics from other outfits (or sheets) to make new items. You should show us your end result when it’s finished!
