This article is more than a bit misleading. The Pentagon building itself covers 28.7 acres of an 1100-acre site, and has a floor area of about 149.2 acres. For a new FBI complex to be twice that size, it would have to be built on the entire 58-acre parcel of land (no parking or other open space), with about half the construction being two-story and the rest three-story. Currently about 26,000 people work at the Pentagon and 7,300 at FBI headquarters in Washington, so there would be plenty of room for more personnel in the new FBI complex.
