Not even the introduction of new Marvel character Namor the Sub-Mariner helps.
He is actually one of the OLDEST Marvel (Atlas/Timely) characters, going back to April, 1939, less than a year after Superman's introduction. I have no idea why Marvel did n't give him a movie before their third tier heroes like Daredevil and Ant-Man. Heck, stupid Warner came out with Aquaman first, and he is a LOT less interesting.
Namor started out as a serious misanthrope. As lefty Jules Feiffer put it, "If Wonder Woman hated men, the Sub-Mariner did her one better. He hated everybody." He was an anti-hero who went beyond the quasi-vigilantism of the earliest Superman and Batman stories. It took WWII to make him friendlier, so that he could stick around.

Universal has the distribution rights to The Hulk and Namor. This is why there is no solo films from both. Disney isn’t gonna make a film.
