First World consumers should know the true story of Cobalt mining. It will be difficult to make any substantial changes, but not impossible.
If China was given some monetary incentive to modernize and humanize this process, that would be a great start, but “Red” China is not known to be very interested in the dignity or civil rights of individuals.
If American President Biden had a sucessful lobotomy, and began demanding China change their mining techniques, or they would receive less of our oil, that might inspire some changes. But that kind of Ballsy Dipomacy is not expected, at least not from Uncle Joe.
