It’s weird, and I must confess I don’t understand it.
Maybe when 2024 rolls around it will make more sense.
I wish that the Republicans would have worked together over the past two years to restore election integrity, but they said to get over it, or they were glad Trump had it stolen from him. Now no one can win the General.
As soon as he posts these things, there’s a huge dustup. “Why is he doing this? Is this going to be a problem in 2024? Is this going to divide the base?” But mostly “Why?”
I think the answer is obvious. Trump wants people thinking about DeSantis, Trump, and 2024 together, and just in general talking and thinking about Trump and 2024. It’s not a bad strategy at a point where no one really cares about elections this far out.
The rumors for the past few months have been that Trump and DeSantis had an agreement in principle for Ron to be his running mate, and I don’t know if this kerfuffle helps or hurts that. But we’re sure talking about it.
