Exactly. The NFL has always been driven by money, and the gambling interests have more money than god.

The entire popularity of the NFL is based on gambling, they have always embraced it to some degree, now it’s just out in the open, with their support of sites like DraftKings and Fan Duel, plus putting a team in Las Vegas.

I don’t believe it’s scripted because if that ever truly came out, it would be the end of the NFL and billions of dollars of value would be lost, it’s a gamble the owners would be insane to take.

Do they have incompetent people as referees? Yes and they don’t discipline them which leads to the accusation of scripting.

The one thing about legalized gambling is that it keeps the game more honest IMO, with betting lines being public a major move in money would be easily detectable, making cheating easier to detect versus the mafia or some other group handling bets who might have a few players on the take.
