When I was courting my future wife, I was telling her the story of how I took the college bus to the Winchester (VA) Mall after lunch, and came upon a Subway speed eating contest, and easily beat the West Virginian plaid shirt guys in the same contest. Fastest foot long consumed won. I won Subway free coupons, movie tickets, a tea set and other things I don’t remember.
She was not impressed.

My mother in law told me about the time my husband, after a school shooting match, downed two party pizzas (18 inchers), a pitcher of root beer and then came home and ate a full dinner.
I was impressed. :)

Not for a challenge or competition, but years ago I took my Grandmother out of a nursing home for a meal where ever she wanted.
She opted to stay local vs going to San Angelo or Abilene to eat.
At the local cafe, we accidentally ordered KC For Two…twice (five pounds of sirloin total) plus baked potatoes and sides.
Took us just over a hour but we ate it all.
