Muscle pain in my arm is the symptom I recall. The doctor at work was concerned about my heart and gave me an EKG. As soon as I stopped taking policosanol the pain went away.
So I inferred that the inhibition of cholesterol biosynthesis is potentially problematic, independent of what method you use to inhibit it.
