Not an Aussie FReeper here, but I can say that if they did impose some sort of Prohibition in Australia, they'd be in a better position as a continent-island to enforce it than the U.S. was in the 1930s.

However, knowing how much an Aussie bloke loves his tinnie of Foster's, I doubt that they'd ever pass a nationwide prohibition of alcohol. They might try to dry up some of the Aboriginal areas, though.

Most Indian reservations are dry. Hasn’t solved their alcohol related crime problem.

Australians generally don't drink Foster's lager, that's an American marketing invention. While it was first brewed in Australia it never became popular and sells very little there, most Australians will tell you they've never touched it.
