The Memphis police chief tasked with investigating the killing of Tyre Nichols was fired from her previous job over a botched child pornography probe.
Cerelyn 'CJ' Davis was dismissed from the Atlanta Police Department in 2008 for her role in the investigation of sergeant Tonya Crane's husband Terrill Marion Crane.
Two detectives on the case accused Davis of telling them not to dig into the claims made against him after the unit received pictures of him with underage girls.
Crane later pled guilty to one count of producing child pornography after the FBI took on the case.
It comes as protests erupted across the US for a second night after brutal footage of the death of Nichols was released by Memphis police.
Protesters vandalized businesses in Los Angeles while others remained mostly peaceful in New York City, Washington DC, Memphis and other cities.
Crane was indicted by a federal grand jury on the child pornography charges after Atlanta Police Department failed to take action on the case.
In 2009 he pleaded guilty to one count of child pornography, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
A follow-up investigation by the city placed the blame squarely on Davis. She was demoted from major to lieutenant before ultimately being fired from the force.
But Davis still became the first black female chief in Memphis one year after George Floyd was killed at the hands of Minneapolis police.
At the time, she was chief in Durham, North Carolina, a post she had held since 2016 and had called for sweeping police reform.
Davis has now once again come under scrutiny following the actions of the five officers involved in the death of Nichols.

I guess sweeping reform really means making it a more groomer-friendly police force.
I have to go from East Tennessee to Memphis once a month for my living.
Memphis is a dangerous town.
That’s pretty much true of any city... They’re the culture of crime as a result of a corrupt society run by corrupt governments.
And they need to find out who made the call from Atlanta that got her the job in Memphis and fire them as well.
City council to city council call. I’ll even predict that she leaves shortly, and in six months....ends up at another police chief job (maybe Wash DC, or Baltimore).
Happens at all levels of government, all across the country.
LEO screw-ups are traded between departments and allowed to continue merrily on their ways. A cop in one county who stupidly shot a kid pumping his own gas, resigns and gets a job 4 counties away while the opening in the old job is replaced by another loser who stole funds from his department, several counties away.

As Jordan Peterson says, morality isn't just within the purview of Judeo/Christian culture or even Western civilization. Functioning cultures around the world have, since the beginning of time, adopted systems of morality that provide frameworks for the functioning of society.
But now as the Left destroys morality, what we are left with is chaos and anarchy.

Since she checks off a lot of diversity boxes, she will surface somewhere shortly at a comparable level.

With this on her record she has no problem being hired AND promoted by other depts. How much further can America fall before utter collapse?
