I doubt any of the Beatles even knew who they were, and if they did they paid very little attention.
Steely Dan was a talented band, a few of their songs are on my all-time favorites list, but nowhere near Beatles level
Almost all of the Playboy Playmates in the 70’s listed Steely Dan as a favorite band. I can think of no higher recommendation.
