It is totally counter productive if it encourages Ukraine to keep fighting and prolong the conflict.
The war in Ukraine is total lose lose insanity for both Russia and the Ukraine and it is being encouraged and prolonged by outside interests who do not have to live with the consequences of the destruction they are enabling and encouraging for their own gain. The heart breaking death and destruction both sides have endured in the first season of comparatively low intensity conflict is nothing compared what is coming in the next phase as both sides mobilize for a more bitter total war conflict. The West needs to get it's act together and pressure both sides to come to the table and end this thing.
