The solution would be to allow only local cars on the road, service trucks at night, and require visitors to ride the bus.
Not enough bus drivers? Raise the pay - and the fares.
Exactly right - if you’ve got a half-billion to spend, you should be able to buy a boatload of buses and a hell of a lot of drivers, even if you have to pay them twice the going rate. Heck, toss in free lift tickets and you could probably staff an enormous fleet of buses just with ski bums - can’t be much worse than baby-sitting lift lines.
Alta and Snowbird were my favorites ski spots in the states when I was able to make it out to SLC, and after a long day on the slopes, I appreciated the availability of the ski bus to get me back down the mountain at the end of the day. And actually Brighton and Solitude in Big Cottonwood were pretty darn good as well, if not in the class with Alta and Snowbird.
