I’m confused. Wouldn’t it be a little bit chilly to be playing baseball in CT at this time of year?
“NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — New Haven and Bridgeport schools used a “restorative approach” to respond to a fight between Wilbur Cross High School and Bassick High School during a Jan. 16 baseball game.”
It was a basketball game.
I think this would work with Russia and Ukraine.
Expect follow up stories like “Five Die in Drive By Shooting”.
Toward the end of my 40 years living between New Haven and Bridgeport, it was too dangerous to go into these cities at night. It was too bad because there were some great Italian restaurants.
There is so much to talk about here, it would take a week.
Over the past 70 years, as sport has continued to morph into a product that has little to do with athletic ability and more with how big, undereducated, and thuggish our athletes are expected. and praised over to be, we have moved from the actual competition to the violence and its pandering to become the spotlight.
And with it has moved this stupidity into lower and lower levels of competition along with the question of the need using sport in schools as a feature and gang violence replacing it. And not only that, don’t let a team get into the finals of anything, even at the highest levels, because win or lost, the town/city they represent is going to get trashed.
Sports has lost its sportsmanship. And the root is money and the acceptance of an oh so forgiving society. It’s cool to do bad things and be proud of them. Everyone is a thug. And it’s perfectly normal.

CT has some of the most dangerous cities in the country:
Hartford, Waterbury, New Haven, Bridgeport and Stamford (south of the parkway) are horrible.
The Democrats has done their best to destroy them—and after decades they can declare victory.
I went to a basketball game and a hockey game broke out.
They were just fighting to stay warm!
The title says "basketball" and the article says "baseball".
I live in the suburbs about 10 miles from Waterbury. It use to be a nice place over 50 years ago. Over the last few years crime has gotten a lot worse in the usual parts of the city. My father grew up in one of the worst parts of the city. It’s hard for me to picture the beautiful scene he paints of the high crime area. My family moved out in 1970 the year I was born.
