A disabled 14-year-old who was raped by her own uncle has been refused an abortion in Poland, sparking outrage in the conservative country.
The Catholic nation has some of the strictest laws on abortion in Europe, and doctors can even refuse to provide them on ethical grounds, a law which has been slammed by women's rights activists.
Termination is only legal when the pregnancy is the result of a criminal act such as rape or incest, or when the woman's health is at risk.
Even though the underage girl was clearly a victim of abuse, two separate hospitals in her region of Podlasie refused to treat her or even tell her where she could receive a legal abortion, a violation of the law.
The girl, who did not understand she was pregnant, was taken by her aunt to doctors who treated them 'brutally and inhumanely', she claimed.
The aunt had even provided documents from a prosecutor saying an alleged rape had occurred and an abortion would be lawful, but doctors still turned them away.
They were allegedly told: 'Not here, go away. We don't know where. It's none of our concern.'
The aunt contacted reproductive organisation Federa who helped take the young girl to Warsaw where an abortion was performed safely and successfully.
But the initial refusal of the local doctors has provoked outrage in the devoutly Christian nation where 92 per cent of its population are Catholic.
Federa said in a statement: 'Warsaw doctors couldn't understand the conduct of the doctors from Podlasie. No empathy is an understatement.
'We have no words of indignation at such treatment.'

Well, the baby they want to kill is an innocent party. Why not kill the rapist, instead?
Not sure how killing the baby that God sovereignly permitted to be created even in the mist of evil will right the wrong.
How about after a trial, punishing the man who committed this darkness in such a way it may deter this evil in the future.
Raped by her uncle and taken for an abortion by her aunt... Where are her parents?
Are the aunt and uncle married and how are they related to the victim?
Or are they lying about relationships and the child is being trafficked?
Was the alleged uncle prosecuted?
I have so many questions.
The abortion will not help her or unrape her.
It is presented as though it would. That is a lie. A lie that would kill a perfectly innocent child and further damage the girl.
Abort the uncle.
If she didn’t know she was pregnant, maybe she was second trimester already, and perhaps the local hospitals weren’t equipped to perform more complicated abortions. I love how much info is missing in these propaganda articles. Like was her “aunt” married to the same “uncle” who supposedly raped her? That would make home life very awkward, lol.
Since the girl was already mentally disabled BEFORE the rape at the age of 14, that will certainly make her condition even worse as she ages. She will not trust anyone, especially men. I know someone who became mentally disturbed AFTER being raped.

Pro-abortionists in Poland are trying to build outrage. Maybe every Polish hospital doesn't perform abortions, silly then to demand it. Aunt was able to find a hospital that did perform the abortion.
Here’s another hint, if you don’t like what people say, ignore them.
Irrelevant to the issue. Someone put a infant in your vehicle, against your will, still means you have a responsibility to care for it until it is in safe care. In this case, the victim of rape gives birth to the baby, and places it up for adoption is she wants, versus making the infant a victim as well.
Because that’s not good enough for the pro choice crowd, even in Poland. They’ll keep pushing until they get their way.
