Wow, LA Sheriff Says Mass Shooter Didn't Use An Assault Rifle, He Used An Assault Pistol

Sheriff Luna clarified that the weapon used in the attack was not an "assault rifle."

Rather, Luna said the suspect used “a magazine-fed semiautomatic assault pistol … that had an extended large-capacity magazine attached to it.”

The term "Assault Pistol" seems to be a recent addition to the gun control propaganda, and it is unclear what exactly it refers to.

The gun control lobby has previously used the term "Assault Rifle" and "Assault Weapon" to describe and demonize certain types of firearms, but these terms have been criticized by the gun community for being misleading and not accurate.

It seems that the gun control lobby is now resorting to inventing new terms to further their agenda, but it is unclear what criteria they are using to define what they call, an "Assault Pistol."

During a press conference on Sunday, Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna stated that the suspect in the shooting at a Lunar New Year celebration on Saturday night had used a semi-automatic "assault pistol".

(Quote)Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna stated that the suspect in the shooting at a Lunar New Year celebration on Saturday night had used a semi-automatic “assault pistol”.(end)

He left out “High-Powered,” “Silenced,” and “Armor-Piercing.” He could have squeezed in “weapon of war” with a little extra effort, too.

Another new name added to their list of made up names designed to frighten the unlearned.

Remember SATURDAY NIGHT SPECIAL?
ARMY SURPLUS WAR RIFLE?
Plastic framed pistol for airline hijackings?
COP KILLER BULLETS!
As-s-s-ault rifle?
Now As-s-s-ault pistol...

All names designed to frighten the public.

40 years ago I and a group of friends used "Water UZIs" that we bought
at the Ithaca New York Woolworths 5 & 10 to successfully
deter and repel an out-of-control gang of marauding raccoons
at the Taughannock Falls campground in the Fingerlakes region of New York.
We adequately secured our camp sites.

Dang raccoons got what they deserved, little beasts...

And yes, yes I know that raccoons can carry rabies and we
dumb young folks were putting our lives at risk.
But we all survived the battle with no casualties - luckily.

Citing law enforcement sources, CNN reported that the gunman used a Cobray M11/9.

The M11/9 is a 9mm semiautomatic pistol introduced in the 1980s by S.W. Daniel Inc. and branded as Cobray. The weapon is modeled off of — and therefore often confused with — the infamous MAC-10 submachine gun, which gained notoriety in movies and television. While the majority of M11/9 models are semiautomatic, Cobray and SWD also produced a fully automatic variant — but it is rare and very expensive.

“a magazine-fed semiautomatic”

As opposed to what? Belt-fed pistols?
