“We’ve already taken a great many steps and we have found out that we live in the only amenable spot surrounded by a gigantic “dead zone” we’ll never escape.”
Only if we listen to folks like you. First object resembling an automobile was built in 1769. Prior to that, most people who wanted to go someplace other than where they were had to walk, ride an animal, or ride a wagon of some sort pulled by an animal. First liquid-fueled rocket was launched in 1926, less than 100 years ago.
Took us more than 300 years to get to modern and fairly reliable automobiles. We’ve been playing with liquid-fueled rockets for less than 100 years. Flying within our atmosphere has been going on for a bit less than 120 years in heavier-than-air craft. We’ve got aircraft that will take hundreds of folks around the world now, when up until 1903, most people believed that we’d never be able to fly in such a device.
We need a bit more time, and the shoulders of a few more giants to stand on, but we will eventually find our way to the other planets, and I believe, to the stars themselves. Just don’t hold your breath waiting.

“Only if we listen to folks like you.”
LOL! I appreciate the compliment, but no, I didn’t write the laws of physics. I am not the one who specified that matter cannot accelerate to the speed of light. Nor am I the one who created our solar system with only one inhabitable planet.
