Wow - I had no idea about Mars buying up VCA! But I did noticed that the quality of my kitty's care started to drop around that time. The local office seemed to have a new head-vet every few months and the staff started looking rather scary (although that is also just the state of that generation).

I used to joke that my pets had better health care than I did. But then that changed (gradually and then suddenly). My kitties both went to the Rainbow Bridge at a fine old age, but I am taking a break from having pets. Not sure which way the world is going, but it isn't good.
