I am guessing the plan is to get in a VP they think will have serious chances in 2024, ride out the next two years with Harris, and ditch her before the primaries with the VP then being perceived and touted by the media as the “incumbent”.
I am sure the media can be counted on to treat the new VP as a rock star from the get go.
