then we have this, TODAY

https://twitter.com/ScottAdamsSays/status/1617872292230631425

garrison apparently seriously got under his skin with that comic (almost a year ago!)

and is living rent-free in scott’s head.

he still doesn’t seem to be at the point where he accepts that key figures lied to him and everyone intentionally and with malice. he may never get there.

he is in the process of apparently trying to re-establish some cred with leftists, who knows why. money?

The exact number of “vaccinated” is known, because they track those people once they’ve received the jab.

They also know the overall population in any given area so they can deduce the number of unvaccinated:

”Data on vaccination status for individual cases and for the resident population of the underlying surveillance area are also collected using data from immunization information systems.”

Then he had the nerve to threaten Garrison with a lawsuit over a cartoon! I mean he’s a cartoonist himself, how does it look for him to sue another cartoonist? Like I’ve said, Adam’s ego is just a bit much, he should have just laughed it off and taken the “L” as the Garrison cartoon suggested.

They also know the overall population in any given area so they can deduce the number of unvaccinated:

If someone is going to make a bold claim like "unvaccinated 16x more likely to be hospitalized" upon which an entire medical policy is based, then they damn sure should be doing more than "deducing".

However, if we assume that their deductions are correct, and they can have a good idea of how many "unvaccinated" there are, then what they CAN'T know is how many of those "unvaccinated" were infected with COVID with symptoms mild enough to forego even a doctor's visit. Therefore, there any statement regarding the rate of hospitalization is false on its face.

I outlined all of this just to give you an example of how numbers and stats can easily be manipulated to support false statements, and this is only one such example. It should be obvious to anyone that this is the case here, simply by the nature of the data collection.

So what? They aren't making any claims about those people.

They're analyzing the hospitalized population.

Sorry, but I think you failed. This is a simple arithmetic exrcise.

No, I think you are being deliberately obtuse. How do you calculate the rate of hospitalization? Figure that one out, and you’ll see where the potential for false conclusions is. I’ve explained it well enough. Good luck.

How do you calculate the rate of hospitalization?

In this case you count how many people were hospitalized and of that number how many were vaccinated vs. not.

You can then normalize that number based on the percentage of the population that's vaccinated.

Not much room for manipulation.

Seriously though - you’re just trolling, right? Come on, level with me. You can turn on your computer and type and stuff, so there seems to be enough facility to get the concept. Yet here we are.

This isn't complicated. We're getting 600k+ barrels/day from the Keystone pipeline. It was never shut down.

"Here’s what really happened: No one shut down, canceled, or shut off the Keystone Pipeline. It is fully operational, daily delivering 590,000 barrels of tar-sands oil in Canada to U.S. refineries.

What some pipeline advocates think is the “Keystone Pipeline” is a 1,700-mile “shortcut” called Keystone XL, or KXL. It would have sliced through Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas and Oklahoma to the Texas Gulf Coast, delivering 830,000 barrels of tar sands oil per day. Many residents of those states fought fiercely against the pipeline cutting through their land."

Show me one source saying the Keystone pipeline (not the Keystone XL extension) was shut down.

You can't.

Do you have a substantive response? How do you think they calculate relative hospitalization rates?

i saw the lawsuit rants after i posted to you - hours of adams inventing a case, taking polls, etc.

so weird. could he just be under so much stress (health.personal/who knows) and focused on ben as the only target he could lash out at? granting his is the sort to externalize bad decision responsibility.

surely he has been told by lawyers that he has nothing, he will lose, and maybe can be counter-sued?

that page of stuff was weird. this guy externalizes his mistakes and that cartoon nailed him to a T as far as I can tell.

in any event, he is still on his sulky teenager tour it seems today.

I’ve already given you a clear example of how such a statistical claim could be completely misleading bs, as statistical claims often are, assuming they aren’t lying outright, and you’ve given nothing to show that the methods for making that “16x” claim are valid. In fact, you just seem to be glossing over the whole discussion as if you don’t understand the premise. So I’m not going to repeat things over and over for you. You go ahead and believe whatever crap they feed you if you prefer. Get another booster if you like.
