Not a big fan of hunting apex predators for sport. At least he did it with a bow.
Not really for sport. It was heading into neighborhood areas and killing dogs.

____
Not exactly for sport. It was living under a neighborhood porch and snacking on pets. It’s amazing a small child hasn’t disappeared with that fellow around. ARE there any missing toddlers in the area? I say give him a reward!
I’m only against it if they’re rare. This cat felt perfectly safe living among humans and hunting there. It was only a matter of time before an old person or kid was on the menu.
We’re better off when apex predators are afraid of humans.
Not really sport. Vermin control, basically.
There’s an undercurrent to this story that is probably not reported, or at least not accurately. The “environmentalists” have re-introduced grizzlies, wolves, and mountain lion in areas where they have long been extirpated. As their numbers rebound they start preying (naturally) on livestock and pets, though also in wealthy liberal enclaves. Example 4,732 of “Not in my backyard!”, they are all freaking out and demanding the conservation or wildlife agencies “do something” and they are getting nowhere.
