Always park in the far reaches of the lot, the walk will do you good.

For several other reasons as well. There is much higher chance of a fender bender when you jockey for position at the front of the lot near the entrance. Even if you are able to get a prime spot, backing out of that slot is a nightmare as you have cars and pedestrians constantly behind you that you have to watch out for. Plus, you will get more than your share of door dings, as other cars squeeze in next to you, with not enough room to fully open their door without it tapping into your car.

Way less stressful to park in the outer reaches of the lot, you can pull in and pull out with minimal hassle.

Also, to your point, I always find it humorous that people will fight so hard for a parking spot near the doors of a shopping mall, only to end up walking two miles once inside of it.

I think I'm going to do my next essay on that subject.

Yep. I see drivers circling near the front for a parking spot closer to the business’s front door. Circling, circling. By the time I’ve parked WAY OUT and walked back to the store...they’re still circling.

One time, I parked way out at the Wal-Market. As I was walking back after shopping, I was following an older black guy. We both literally crossed 20 empty spaces as we were nearing the outer section of the lot. He walked over to a nice Jag that was parked several empty spaces from my new truck. I laughed and said “I bet I know why you’re parked out here.”. He laughed and said “Yep, to get away from the idiots over there (pointing towards the packed lot at the front store door).
