I’ve visited Ottawa.

It is entirely populated by Canadian civil servants, i.e. the most depressed and boring city in the world.

Very surprised that their McDonald’s was so action packed.

I lived and worked in Ottawa for 1 year. From the picture in the OP article, I speculate that the McD in question is in downtown. My condo was in Nepean, a nice quiet place, very secure, very pleasant. Rarely did I go downtown.

There was about a 5 block strip on the main boulevard stretching from the interstate type highway on the south to the river on the north that was a hot spot for night life. Not my style, never went there. I wonder if this is where this McD was located? There's another neighborhood niche a few minutes from downtown and adjacent to the river that also comes to mind.
