I can vouch for that. I've got 3 of those Bond Arms derringers. Great guns and fun to shoot, but they're clearly meant for up close and personal defense.
As with snubbies, they are primarily intended for arm’s length conflicts. Most self-defense incidents are fairly close, where (1) having a gun, and (2) being able to get it quickly into action are more important that long-range accuracy.
