Legislators in Maryland's 2023 session's first bill would seriously restrict where the tens of thousands of people who recently received concealed handgun permits might actually carry their weapons.
The Maryland laws that prevented many otherwise law-abiding persons from obtaining a concealed carry permit were overturned by the supreme court decision in NY v Bruen.
Following this decision, applications for firearm licenses skyrocketed.
Now, Maryland Senate Bill One would prohibit people with guns from being within 100 feet of a long list of locations that provide "public accommodation," including nearly every retail establishment in the state.
It would also make it illegal to carry a permitted gun on anyone's property without express permission. On the first day of the General Assembly, Sen. Bill Ferguson (D), Baltimore, the president of the Maryland Senate, said, "If people don't feel safe, nothing else matters,"
What is it with the NE?
Bet the criminals are supporting this wholeheartedly.
Of course, the “legislators” have protection...I mean, they ARE the important people.../s
I’ll tell you what it is:

Our government favors criminals and despises the good citizen…we are a third world country via politics. Even worse, are the idiots that believe government is doing this because they care.
What if I don’t feel safe without a gun because criminals don’t obey useless laws and could kill me in any store or venue and I am left unable to fight back because you took away my ability to self protection. What if they attack me with a knife? Will you remove knives from restaurants and all venues?
I mean, Mr Ferguson, nothing else matters. Right?
Feeling safe is just a feeling. Having a means to try to protect yourself is a reality.
Maryland cops used to target license plate numbers. CCW info resides in a database that law enforcement has access to.
So they would run plate numbers, look for CCW drivers pull them and see if they were CCW in the state of Maryland where it was illegal. Then those folks would be arrested and sent into the Maryland criminal justice system.
It was found out and Maryland was ordered to change the tactic but... they altered their approach rather than strike it from common practice.
And I can guaran-damn-tee you that Bill Ferguson...and his Rat Party hack friends...are plenty safe with their Smith & Wessons on their hip.Particularly in Baltimore (Randy Newman was right about Baltimore).
What Rat Party hacks will never acknowledge is that the 2nd Amendment isn't about hunting...or even about "personal protection". It's about this.
It can’t survive court challenge, but they throw these out as time consuming logs on the road.
Could be.

To which I’d add: Too many folks say “yes” to the following questions. And that can get you in trouble.
Cop: Can I do a quick search of your car? It’s no big deal.
Cop: Mind if I pat you down? It’s just for officer safety.
The best answer to both questions: With all due respect officer, I do not consent to any searches.
But even that is a bit of a gamble, as the cop could get annoyed by you asserting your rights, and call a K9 to walk around your car. Then you’ve got to put up with that hassle.
If a single federal judge can stop DJT's wall why can't a single Federal judge stop laws that are clearly in direct defiance of a SCOTUS decision?
Oh yeah, like the hood rats are going to obey the law and not carry.
This is brilliant.
The carjacker protection act of 2023.
Um.. Didn’t NY’s get chucked? Why does MD think theirs will be treated any differently?
