Not a big fan of the 1967 Beatles. Some of there weakest work. Best was the White Album and Abbey Road.
I also liked Revolver, Something New and Rubber Soul. My parents had those albums and when I was old enough, I’d sneak them into my room and listen to them on my record player with my headphones. {creak!}
After leaving UofCincy after my freshman year, I headed west to LA with the girl-next-door by my side. My plan was to finish school at UCLA where in state tuition was $100/qtr.
Eventually, we found a nice apt in a residential neighborhood of Hollywood.
One Sat afternoon, the clock radio sitting atop the refrigerator was tuned to KHJ.
I was hearing songs I never heard before and a guest DJ explaining what each song was about or what was happening in the recording studio at the time.
The album was the “White” album.
The guest DJ was George Harrison
A week later it was released and I bought it at a record shop on Sunset.
