“White supremacy” is a concept I have heard of being discussed by others, but apparently nobody has a good definition of what it is. There never has been a good definition on what “white” is, either.
And what constitutes “supremacy”?
Here’s the bill:
https://www.congress.gov/bill/118th-congress/house-bill/61/text
“(a) In general.—A person engages in a white supremacy inspired hate crime when white supremacy ideology has motivated the planning, development, preparation, or perpetration of actions that constituted a crime or were undertaken in furtherance of activity that, if effectuated, would have constituted a crime.”
The last part means that no actual crime needs to have been committed. It allows the FBI to go after people who they deem were engaged in a “conspiracy” to commit “white supremacy”
Things that could be deemed to be in furtherence of white supremacy include
“published material advancing white supremacy, white supremacist ideology, antagonism based on “replacement theory”, or hate speech that vilifies or is otherwise directed against any non-White person or group”
There’s a lot of stuff posted on FR that could be deemed to be covered under the above.
And if the Feds can make a claim that ANYONE, ANYWHERE was “inspired” by the posted speech to commit “white supremacy”, then prosecution could happen for the speech.
A violation would trigger prosecution under 18 USC 249, which allows for HEFTY prison terms

It would not matter if the act was ultimately struck down by the supreme court. A bunch of people would STILL be dragged through the process.
