The cows on the Chick-Fil-A billboards are always trying to get us to eat more chicken. Now scientists want us to eat more beetles.
If you are against the excess slaughter of animals, you should be for eating MORE beef.
How many people can ONE rotisserie chicken feed? One to three at the VERY most.
How many beetles does it take to make one 1/4 lb. shamburger patty? dozens? hundreds?
If you slaughter one cow you can get enough food to feed dozens. Many thousands of beetles and dozens of chickens would be needed for the same output.
If you kill ONE COW, you spare the lives of many thousands of beetles or dozens of chickens. A worthy sacrifice.
OR, spare the cow for a while and use her as a grass processing machine to turn food that humans cannot digest into something nutritious that many of us can. It will be a while before we milk chickens or beetles.
Better yet: Wait until the cow dies of natural causes.
