The mother of an armed robbery suspect who was shot and killed by an armed customer in a Houston, Texas, taqueria last week said she spoke to her son hours before the incident, and he promised he would do better, according to reports.
In an interview with Fox station KRIV in Houston, Corine Goodman shared what the last conversation with her son, 30-year-old Eric Eugene Washington, was like before he was killed.
"Thursday morning was the last time he called me. He said mom, son to mother, I’m trying to be the best person I can be," Goodman said.

Did he love his kids?
Was he a gentle giant?
Would he give the shirt off his back?
Did he have a smile that lit up the room?
Was he an aspiring rapper?
Did he love airplanes?
Well, now he is a dead thug who, hopefully, serves as a warning for other would be thugs who plan to rob people.
And now every time she watches the video of her son being shot, she can reflect on how she failed as a parent.
According to Snopes it is not, but we also live in a society where many people value the offender more than the victim(s).
My first impression was that it was a clever and well-done manipulation. But we’ve come to the point where things that were once unimaginable are now confounding us on a daily basis,
Well, it appears that along with his other faults, he failed to adhere to his promises. Nor, did he honor his mother, given that he promised her one thing and and willfully did another.
Not in Texas.
So he was a criminal and a liar. 😏

The DA is looking to charge the shooter as the case was referred to a grand jury, and there’s an old legal saying that any DA can get a ham sandwich indicted.
And, the usual riff raff (I’m looking at you, Quanell X), are out looking for innocents to accuse.
The press is also editorializing by calling him a “hero” customer (in quotes).
Harris county is a cesspool of democrats now, so I wouldn’t bet on the guy going scot free.
