Woo hoo - just got my seeds ordered!! I got a SeedsNSuch catalog & ordered from them.

This is my first time ordering from a catalog (other than the Dragon’s Egg & Diva cukes from Pinetree Gardens last year).

Usually, I buy small plants at the garden center although I’ve occasionally bought seeds there, too ... the seeds are fairly run-of-the-mill varieties.

So I ordered myself (& my brother) some jalapenos ... a colorful “spice” mix (orange, yellow, red) & some Mucho Nachos. I also ordered Celebrity Plus tomatoes (supposed to be an improvement over the regular Celebrities, and some hollyhock (single bloom) seeds.

The rest of the seeds are the 2nd half of the Christmas present for my ‘greats’ ... 2 nieces and a nephew. I tried to get kid-friendly veggies that they can pick/eat & preferably with a ‘cool’ name. They got one flower to go with the veggies. This is what I ordered:

1 - Thumbelina Carrots (little round ones)
2 - Kentucky Blue green beans (wanted ‘Rattlesnake’, but they were sold out. the Ky Blue is a ‘91 AAS winner, early, high yields & sweet.
3 - Yum Yum hybrid peppers - small, snack size
4 - Jack Be Little miniature pumpkins - can grow on a trellis which is good - my one niece has limited garden space, although she’s expanding every year
5 - Snak Hero Snak Pea
6 - Teddy Bear Dwarf Sunflowers

The youngest kid (19 mos old now) loves the garden and eats tomatoes green, ripe or rotten (I’ve told this story before) so having things he can pick/eat was what I was after.

I also ordered myself the Roots, Shoots, Buckets & Boots book (after gifting 2 copies at Christmas) - loved the ideas, so now I’ll have my own “inspiring” copy. With all that’s gone on in the last month & a half, I just want to be OUTSIDE and doing something in the garden. The other day, I helped my SIL with something and she was telling me she’s already in “garden mode” ... she has quite the green thumb, so I told her when she starts planting, let me know ... I’m going to try to follow along this year. Last year, I got a very late start due to ‘The Knee’ ... hoping for a better spring this year.

My seeds will ship next week - since mom and I can travel now, we’re going to visit both of my nieces in the near future & I can deliver the seeds to the kids personally. :-)

You’ll LOVE the ‘Mucho Nacho’ Jalapenos. Guaranteed!

Glad that book is getting a lot of mileage for you; can’t wait to see your ‘Bean Tee Pee’ this summer, LOL!

I laughed at the bean ‘teepee’ and then thought ‘hmmmmm ....’, that actually might be a good way to grow beans in my garden!

Finishing up the Christmas present for the kids with the seeds has been hanging over my head for a couple of weeks - I just couldn’t get around to it. I was afraid I’d waited too late & they’d be out of some of the ones I wanted, but only one was unavailable .... the ‘Rattlesnake’ beans must be very popular, since those were sold out.

Limited on space? Just want to make USE of some space? If so, here's a cute Herb Planter idea to try:
