I am suspicious of the police. And I am, in general, VERY supportive of 1A auditors. Someone must watch the watchers.
But I am not supportive of those auditors who go inside post offices, etc. Yes, it’s legal for them to do so. And government employees need to know that. But these auditors are just fishing for a confrontation, something to put on their YouTube channels. I am convinced of that.
After all, do post office clerks really need to be watched? I’ll say it again. It is legal to film them. But doing so does nothing to advance civil liberties. Nothing.
Better that these auditors keep an eye on traffic stops, cops bothering innocent people in parks, etc.
That’s not what this video or this “auditor” is about.
You sure nailed that!!
We dealt with a few of these at Vandenberg AFB and they intentionally crossed onto base property despite signage (and common sense) that warned they were on DoD property.
Their responses was something like "I was afraid I was going to get shot" and was ludicrous. Purely for theater. They were just told to get off of base property and they just kept trying to provoke troops just doing their job.
Didn't He state that He called the Fire Dept to report it as an illegal action and a safety violation?
Would Your position be different if the locked door led to injury or death because the exit was locked?
I believe the Auditor stated pretty clearly up front in the video that he wasn't there to watch the employees, but to publicize that He had full expectation that He would be told that He could not film on Public property.
Also, watching the Post Office's Manager accuse Him and His viewers as "J6 Wannabies" (or some such verbage) makes it pretty clear that the Manager was wearing his leftist policies on His sleeve.
Having watched the whole video, I'm disappointed to watch an ex-Marine laugh at, and significantly lack a knowledge of, the Constitution.
I suspect if that policeman acted that way at the Post Office, He would not hesitate to act improperly in other encounters with the Public.
