Have to admit, if it truly is opal then that would be irrefutable evidence of water for sure...

Past flowing water is a given. It’s acknowledged.

I think the 49ers said something about that—but went for it anyway...

Some opal varieties like the Australian Black Opal goes for $43,000 a gram. Far more valuable than gold, which is valued in ounces.

I have seen a lot of “Could be from” and “pretty sure it might be from”, but this would be absolute and the smoking gun proof without question right here.

A fossil made of Opal. It's actually for sale . I saw an image of this fossil years ago and thought this was the ultimate Jewel! There is an underground town in Australia where this was discovered If I remember correctly.

They have shown deltas and flood plains for many years now. Even wet spots where springs leak out of the soil to evaporate. With the current atmosphere of 1% ours water would immediately vaporize on the surface, but eons ago that wasn’t the case.

Our new analysis of archival data showed striking
similarity
between all of the fracture halos we’ve observed much later in the mission,” Gabriel said. “Seeing that these fracture networks were so widespread and
likely
chock-full of opal was incredible.”....

This proves nothing about water.
