Interesting. Why would MJ be interested in marrying a pudgy white woman? The gossip I heard was that MJ had purchased parts of the Elvis Songbook when the King was short of cash and the Presley family would try any trick to get it back as a complete song book would be hugely more valuable than a partial one. Neither the Scientological Nazi angle or this one explains why MJ would want to marry pudgy Pressly.
Personally, I favor the "acquiring a 'beard' to protect himself against charges of child molestation" theory. That adequately explains why he wanted to marry her.
Question is then: But why did she want to marry him?
The Scientology angle as well as the desire to recover parts of the Elvis estate which MJ had previously acquired seem like plausible motivations.
