I guess the elites are still pissed off that the Soviet Union died and that Russia is no longer commieland.
My personal theory is that the elites are pissed that they were never able to “vanquish” the Soviets head-to-head and demonstrate their superiority...Reagan simply ran the Soviets up and down the field until they collapsed from exhaustion, and thus the elites were denied their “destiny”.
